GeoKARTO is organized every two years by the Cartographic Society of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with other academic institutions focusing on current issues and trends in the theory and practice of cartography, geoinformatics and geodesy. In 2024, the conference will be organised in cooperation with the Institute of Geography of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (IG SAS).

Publishing contributions

Abstracts will be published in the Conference proceedings. Full papers could be published in the scientific journal Cartographic Letters (Scopus)

Abstracts must be submitted via an online submission system. The minimum length of an abstract is 250 words. Please ensure that your findings are described sufficiently for reviewers to decide on quality. Abstracts that fail to meet these criteria will be rejected. Abstracts will be reviewed for the level of innovation/contribution to the field and the general standard of academic writing of the abstract. All abstracts must follow the guidelines and be written using the template. The event organizers may omit any paper that does not conform to the specified requirements. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in the scientific journal Cartographic Letters (Scopus).
